Vitamin A It's recommended that women consume 800 mcg and men consume 1000 mcg of vitamin A daily. Vitamin A, also called retinol, helps your eyes adjust to light changes when you come in from outside and also helps keep your eyes, skin and mucous membranes moist. Vitamin A mostly comes from animal foods, but some plant-based foods supply beta-carotene, which your body then converts into Vitamin A. It also has antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals in the body that cause tissue and cellular damage. |

Prevent Bags And Crows Feet
One of the most common goals of facial exercise is to prevent or reduce bags under the eyes and the untidy wrinkling known as crows feet. Certain types of faces are prone to bags under the eyes because of the way that particular muscle groups dominate in facial animation. Crows feet on the other hand develop because of conflicting muscle movements. This involves the eye muscles and the muscles that lift the lips. Exercising the face to reverse the effects of aging is therefore just as much about not exercising certain muscles as it is about exercising others. The exercise described below, however, will allow the eye muscles to be toned in isolation. This will help to rejuvenate the slack muscles that create bags while reinforcing the pattern of response that prevents crows feet. The dominant patterns of muscle development in your face determines which muscles should be exercised to achieve a particular change. Place three fingers of your left hand at the outer corner of the left eye, and then your right index finger under brow on inner eye corner, with your right middle finger below your eye. Your fingers forming a horizontal V. Use your fingers to provide resistance as you slowly try to close the eye, using lower lid and muscle only - not the upper lid. Try not to squint or frown; just keep the rest of the face relaxed apart from the lower eye muscle. Hold tension for ten seconds then relax. Repeat five times, then do the same with other eye. Do this exercise once a day. |

Make Your Eyes Sparkle
The eyes are the center of muscle activity in the face and are surrounded by a layer of muscle that contracts inwards to close and protect them.
These eye muscles can become flaccid, allowing the skin around the eyes to droop, so the eyes appear slit-like.
Use this exercise to give emphasis to the lids and stimulate the tiny muscles that open the lids wide so your eyes will look bigger and more defined.
Place your index fingers under the brow bones. Press gently and upwards, to provide resistance as you slowly close your lids tight. Hold for ten seconds, relax and repeat five times. Do this once a day.
The development of the eye muscles influences the way that most of the other facial muscles interact to produce facial expressions. |
Firming The Forehead
After the age of 25, forehead lines start to etch more deeply into the skin. This is caused partly by the movement of the forehead muscle creasing the skin and partly by the skin becoming less elastic.
A dire surgical approach is to get a cosmetic surgeon to inject a drug to "freeze" the forehead muscle, but this ages the muscle even further, leading to drooping skin over the eyes, at which point the surgeon would probably suggest cutting away some flesh to correct it ....and so on. Place fingers of both hands flat against the forehead, index finger in the hairline, little finger against the brows. Press firmly against the bone, gently pulling the skin upwards and out.
Now slowly move your brows down and close your eyes without frowning. Hold for a count of five, relax and repeat five times. Do this once a day.. A well toned forehead muscle will help to resist lines and aging of the forehead because the need to consciously raise the eyebrows is removed. Thus there is a net reduction in the frequency of skin folding on the forehead, which means fewer wrinkles.

Highlight Your Cheekbones
Accentuating the cheekbones gives the face that extra bit of appeal. If the cheekbones appear more prominent this also adds contour and shape to the cheeks, giving a more elegant tapered shape to the face. They run from the outer corners of the lips to the outer area of the cheekbones. The response of these muscles varies quite widely from person to person, depending on facial type. Some people use the muscles quite easily in facial animation, while others hardly use them at all. Keeping the mouth firmly closed, force a smile using the lips only. Keep the eye muscles as relaxed as possible: do not squint or narrow the eyes at all; keep them as wide open as you can. Try to lift the cheeks outwards towards your temples - imagine you are trying to lift the corners of your lips to form a banana shape. Hold the smile for three seconds, then relax. Now do the same again but this time try to prevent your lips from widening. Keep your lips slightly pursed to help you do this. Remember to keep the eye muscles relaxed. Hold for three seconds, then relax. Hold this tension for ten seconds, then relax. Repeat five times. As you do these exercises it may help if you touch your cheeks so that you can feel the muscles working. Relax and repeat five times.Do these exercises once a day.

Pre vent Nose To Mouth LinesThe lines from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth tend to deepen as we age. This partly due to the small muscles that lift the top lip and nostrils losing tone so that the flesh of the cheeks folds over the lip muscle.
Some faces are more prone than others to deep mouth lines, but this quick exercise will tone the lip and nose levator muscles to help prevent those unsightly lines.
On one side of your face at a time, lift one corner of your mouth and nose as if snarling. Keep the eye muscles relaxed.
Place your fingers on your mid-cheek area to feel the muscles work. It may help you to do the correct type of "snarl" if you begin by wrinkling the nose, as if detecting a bad smell, then lift one side of your mouth. Hold for three seconds then relax. Repeat five times for each side.
Now do both sides at the same time remembering to keep the eye muscles relaxed. Begin by wrinkling the nose, then lift the corners of the mouth. Hold for three seconds, then relax.
Repeat five times. Do these exercises once a day and you will be surprised how those lines start to smooth out. |

Forget Cosmetic Surgery Everyone has a facial signature. This is an individual way that the facial muscles operate to produce a person's "look". Your facial signature is formed very early in life, but habits of facial expression and the effects of aging erode this basic, simple muscle response, so that the face ages in typical ways, being prone to lines, wrinkles and visible changes to the facial features.
Using these special exercises, you can restore your youthful uncomplicated facial signature and actually change your facial appearance. This is as much to do with knowing which facial muscles not to exercise, as with knowing which muscles should be exercised.
You will be surprised how quickly you can start looking younger with natural facelift technique |
